LicensePreserver is a new management tool available through the Google Chrome Web Store that completely changes how enterprises manage precious, shared software licenses (sometimes referred to as floating, concurrent or network licenses). It solves the economic challenge faced by many organizations which find themselves forced to pay for more software seats than they need or which lose productivity when licenses are unavailable due to user mismanagement.
Available immediately as an extension for Chrome, LicensePreserver will soon be available for Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari.
We originally developed LicensePreserver for one of the busiest broadcast television news operations in the U.S. where it is being used to manage mission-critical, million dollar software resources. Deployed among 250 users in that newsroom, LicensePreserver delivers a net reduction of peak simultaneous users by more than 30%–saving the company thousands of dollars in licensing fees an infrastructure for that one tool alone.
LicensePreserver just keeps on working to ensure our menu screens stay updated!

License Preserver really works! We just installed License Preserver in a newsroom with over 200 people in it using a shared application. We set the timeout period for 1 hour. Immediately, peak license usage dropped from 35 to 24 users.
